Support Worker – Homelessness Services (Casual) Location: Still Waters, Southport (Gold Coast) Award: SCHADS – Crisis Assistance & Supported Housing Level About the Role The Salvation Army Australia’s Homelessness Stream delivers high-quality, person-centred support to individuals and families who are at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness. Our services are voluntary, free, accredited and grounded in dignity, respect and hope — because everyone deserves a safe, secure and affordable place to call home. We are currently seeking a proactive and values-driven Support Worker to join our team at Still Waters in Southport. Reporting to the Team Leader, you will provide practical and emotional support to people accessing our residential service, helping them work towards stability, independence and positive outcomes. This is a casual position based on the Gold Coast. How You’ll Make an Impact In this role, you will: Build positive and respectful relationships that promote participation, independence and self-determination Support individuals to work towards their goals in line with their case management plans and TSA frameworks Assist with ongoing assessment of presenting needs, vulnerabilities and risks from intake through to exit Contribute to collaborative case planning, supporting a range of tailored interventions Demonstrate high levels of emotional intelligence and self-awareness in professional practice Maintain accurate , timely and confidential records using TSA information systems What You’ll Bring A tertiary qualification in Community Services, Social Work or a related discipline ( minimum Diploma level) Experience working in a social services setting, such as homelessness or crisis support (desirable) Availability to work night shifts, weekends and holidays as needed Current First Aid and CPR certification A valid driver’s licence A current Working With Children Check (QLD Blue Card) What we offer The Salvos offer eligible employee's a well-balanced package of meaningful benefits including: Salary packaging up to $15,900 tax free $2,650 meal entertainment benefit.
