This is a full-time position based in Williamtown, NSW. The full range of activities include: Coordinate operation, maintenance, and repair of water treatment equipment and associated well field and support equipment. Self-perform planned and unplanned maintenance activities, and where required, manage subcontractors for specialised equipment service needs. Perform and direct activities while ensuring that codes, standards, and water treatment objectives are met while being environmentally conscious. Collect water samples and coordinate laboratory analysis. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical process equipment for initial diagnoses. Operate, control and maintain WTP unit processes including ion exchange, ultrafiltration, chemical dosing, and sludge handling process activities. Interact with and control the WTP utilising an intuitive plant control system designed and built for the plant. Monitor and manage replenishment of chemical supplies including purchasing and budget management. Maintain effective communication with project team members across Australia. Be a self starter, and plan and schedule work to meet required timelines. Compile data for monthly operating report to in house management and client management. Available for occasional off-hour remote monitoring and call-ins to troubleshoot treatment system performance in the event of equipment failure or unforeseen shut-downs. Observe and practice the company's WHS, Environmental and Quality policy, guidelines and procedures . Be an integral part of our safety culture, approaching all aspects of work with a safety-first attitude. Report any quality, environmental, safety incident or hazards at work in accordance with established management system processes YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Cert III – Water Industry Operations (desirable). 5 years of work experience in water treatment operations with demonstrated practical experience operating and maintaining membrane filtration, chlorine dosing, and coagulation-based treatment processes. Licences, certificates and competencies such as first aid, forklift, working at heights, chemical handling etc ideal, but not essential, as ECT2 will provide where a gap in the selected candidate’s training is identified. Confident in the use of hand and power tools to perform routine maintenance of the site, plant and equipment. Proficient in the use of MS office software such as Word, Excel, Outlook etc. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organisational skills. Ability to work effectively both in a team and independently. Be able to attain a Baseline security clearance.
