As the new Heath Safety and Environment Manager, you will provide management and consultancy support to the Business Managers and Site Safety Personnel for the Transport industry on the Westlink M7 Motorway Contract. In this role, you’ll champion a learning‑focused culture while ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation, Service Stream and Contract requirements. You will drive proactive risk management, strengthen engagement, and support continuous performance improvement across the project. Key Responsibilities: Operational Oversight Oversee incident investigations and ensure systemic corrective actions. Ensure consistent application of Critical Safety Controls (CSCs). Support contractor onboarding by assessing subcontractor HSE submissions, lead onboarding meetings and SWMS reviews and conducting site surveillance. Co-ordinate and lead assurance activities including audits, inspections, and reviews. Stakeholder Engagement Build strong relationships with clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders. Communicate HSE performance, risks, and improvement plans. Support cultural change initiatives and psychological safety programs. Ensure alignment with Service Stream’s values and leadership behaviours. Systems & Reporting Oversee use of Enablon, InjuryMaster, and other digital HSE tools. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and FSC requirements. Ensure document control and system governance. Strategic Leadership Lead the development and execution of HSE plans aligned with business objectives. Monitor HSE performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Team Development & Coaching Mentor and develop HSE Advisors. Promote field engagement using WTLC (Walk, Talk, Lead, Care) and Learning Teams. Embed SCLP (Safety Culture Leaning Principles) into team practices and investigations. About You: Tertiary qualification and relevant industry experience working as a Health and Safety Manager (Maintenance or Construction background desirable). Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, ISO standards, environmental legislation, and industry best practice. Auditor qualifications in OHS, Environment & Quality discipline. ICAM Lead Investigator certification desirable. Return to Work Coordinator certification desirable. White Card and Full Australian Driver’s Licence. Cert IV in Training & Assessment desirable.
