About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to play a key leadership role on the Stapylton Sewerage Network Upgrade, a major project being delivered for the City of Gold Coast. This upgrade will significantly increase capacity across the Stapylton catchment, supporting future population growth and ensuring long‑term environmental compliance. The project includes approximately 15 kilometres of gravity and rising sewer mains, two new pump stations, and the renewal and decommissioning of existing sewerage assets along the corridor from Ormeau to Eagleby. As Senior Project Engineer, you will work closely with the Project Manager to drive planning, coordination and delivery across multiple work fronts. This is a hands‑on, site‑based leadership role suited to someone who thrives on solving complex engineering challenges and guiding teams to deliver high‑quality outcomes. Key Responsibilities include Leading day‑to‑day project delivery to meet program, budget and quality targets Overseeing construction planning, methodologies, staging and risk management Providing technical leadership across complex sewer and pipeline works Managing subcontractors, suppliers and consultants across dispersed work zones Driving procurement strategies and ensuring timely supply of materials and services Leading cost control, forecasting, reporting and commercial performance Managing contract administration, variations, progress claims and client reporting Ensuring compliance with WHS, environmental and quality requirements Coaching and mentoring Project Engineers and Site Engineers Building strong, collaborative relationships with clients, stakeholders and the broader project team What You’ll Bring to the Team A tertiary degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering Proven experience delivering water infrastructure projects at Senior Project Engineer level Strong technical and commercial acumen, with the ability to manage cost, risk and program performance Demonstrated success leading engineering teams, subcontractors and multiple work fronts on major civil, linear or utilities projects Effective stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and communicate clearly with clients, authorities and internal teams A flexible, solutions‑focused mindset and willingness to work in a dynamic, site‑based environment A strong commitment to safety, quality and collaborative teamwork Why You Should Work With Us Our people are what make Abergeldie successful, and we make sure that this is the kind of place where great people enjoy working for the long term.
