Our Client Our client specialises in the supply and manufacture of mechanical components with extensive expertise in heavy and precision engineering, Defence, in-service support, and rail industries. They are looking for multiple Mechanical Fitters to join their workshop-based team. Benefits: Join a supportive team with a great company culture Full-time hours in a busy manufacturing environment Temporary-to-permanent opportunity after 6 months Competitive hourly rate plus daily travel allowance of $35 per day Potential for overtime and Saturday work Job Details Monday to Thursday 6am – 2:30pm, Friday 6am – 12:30pm Pay: $52/hr Super plus $35 per day travel allowance Immediate start for the right person About the Role: This position is heavily focused on mechanical fitting (approximately 90% of the role) . You will be actively working in the workshop, moving between jobs, dismantling and assembling equipment and carrying out repairs and maintenance on heavy machinery. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working on heavy mechanical equipment rather than bench-based tasks. Key Responsibilities: Perform mechanical fitting, assembly, disassembly and repair of heavy mechanical equipment Work with hydraulic systems and components Diagnose faults and carry out preventative and breakdown maintenance Safely operate workshop equipment including overhead cranes Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with WHS standards Requirements: Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting/Engineering, Fitter & Turner, or Toolmaker Strong hands-on experience in mechanical fitting, particularly with heavy equipment Solid knowledge of hydraulics and mechanical systems Experience working in an active workshop environment (not bench-based) Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong safety awareness and attention to detail If you believe you are the right fit for this opportunity, hit apply now!
