YOUR ROLE The Education Data and Intelligence Lead will lead and mature the ESP Units’ educational data and intelligence capability to enable system‑level, insight‑driven decision making, uplift school performance, and deliver the strategic and transformational agenda of the ESP Unit. The Education Data and Intelligence Lead will govern the end to end data and intelligence framework, strategy, standards, platforms, analytics, and adoption, while managing and coaching the both the ESP Unit and other units/teams to deliver high quality, impactful outputs. Job Description WHAT YOU WILL DO Lead and manage the development of education data intelligence aligned to MACS 2030 and ESP priorities, encompassing assessment data, rationalisation, governance, standardisation and adoption Establish system-level performance measures that translate data into actionable insights to inform policy development, and school improvement Collaborate with educators and leadership teams to provide insights that support teaching and learning strategies Ensure adherence to MACS data standards, definitions, metadata, processes and quality controls for key education datasets (e.g., NAPLAN, ACER PAT, SIF, MACSSIS, SIP/AAP) and contribute to continuous uplift in these areas Oversee data guidance and best practice across methods, modeling and visualisation ensuring quality assured outputs from the Education Data & Intelligence team. Prioritise and oversee the portfolio of dashboards, reports and advanced analyses to deliver timely, trusted insights to MACS stakeholders Manage Education Data and Intelligence resource(s) in accordance with strategic and operational deliverables ABOUT YOU Proven leadership in data-focused or educational improvement roles, delivering system-level data and insight outcomes Demonstrated people leadership skills, including coaching, prioritisation, quality assurance, and capability development Deep experience with educational assessments and datasets (e.g., NAPLAN, ACER PAT, School Improvement), with strong understanding of primary and secondary school contexts Advanced capability in analytics delivery and visualisation (Power BI, Excel), and user-centered design.
