The key duties of the position include The Role As an EL 1 Systems Engineer you will be part of the team at Surveillance and Control System Program Office (S&CSPO). In this role you will be responsible for the assurance of systems safety along with test and evaluation frameworks and activities within S&CSPO's CAF12 and CAF14 sustainment units and the acquisition program office. You will be required to complete rigorous assurancer of Industry's system safety artefacts and test and evaluation programs/artefacts in a timely manner. You will also be required to oversight the Systems Safety and Test & Evaluation programs across S&CSPO, and in addition liaise with stakeholders, including Force Element Group (FEG) and Industry Partner leads. You will work in the S&CSPO Cyber, Engineering, Logistics and Governance unit. RAAF Base Williamtown is located in one of Australia's premier tourist destinations, the Hunter Valley. With idyllic surf beaches in Port Stephens and Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, the Hunter wine region, hiking trails and Barrington tops are all within an hour of the Base. Our Ideal Candidate As our ideal candidate you will be able to perform the below functions: Lead, plan and deliver critical and very complex engineering activities and provide advice in the field of systems engineering under broad direction. Accountable for establishing and providing assurance of the S&CSPO Test and Evaluation Framework and supporting artefacts. Accountable for review and endorsement of Industry generated Test and Evaluation Test Programs and Procedures in accordance with delegations provided. Accountable for exercising assigned engineering authorities and any other delegations. Translate high level goals and outcomes, identify issues and uncertainties and incorporate these into planning, decision making, priority setting and implementation. Implement systems engineering knowledge to develop advancements to established engineering principles, techniques, methods and regulations. Work collaboratively, communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and influence the work of teams. Evaluate technical and design documentation including scoping, planning, and reviewing and implementing actions. Evaluate and ensure that the delivered materiel meets requirements and legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks and implement actions. Lead and ensure safety aspects of Defence materiel systems are considered and incorporated into systems engineering activities. Manage workflows, resources, prepare work area and team plans detailing measurable milestones and expected outcomes.
