The Transition Branch is responsible for the delivery of the Veterans' Chaplaincy Pilot Program (VCPP). The VCPP was established to explore the benefits and value of delivering veterans' chaplaincy for veterans and families during and following their transition from the Australian Defence Force. The Assistant Director - Regional Chaplaincy Managers in the VCPP are responsible for delivering chaplaincy support to veterans and families through and post transition from ADF service and for upskilling and supporting other potential community providers in this work. The role involves a range of responsibilities including delivering chaplaincy support to veterans and families as part of a whole of DVA and Defence team, development and leadership of community-based chaplaincy resources. The key duties of the position include Working closely with the broader DVA team and Defence and other stakeholders, develop and deliver military focussed chaplaincy effects to enhance suicide prevention and wellbeing for veterans and families through and post transition Support other ADF or community-based chaplains and appropriate providers for delivery of military focussed chaplaincy support to veterans and families Contribute to the development of the practices, standards and programs of the VCPP including appropriate capturing of data around service provision Contribute to the future strategic direction of Veterans' Chaplaincy and provide input into operational, compliance and general management issues Other tasks as directed.
