The key duties of the position include The Role As the APS 6 ADF Workforce Officer, you will support the Deputy Director Workforce and Communication to deliver Reserve Service Days (RSD) and Australian Defence Force (ADF) workforce duties at the Divisional level. This role will see the successful candidate undertake ADF workforce tasks such as the oversight and management of Military Personnel Division (MPD) RSD budget, ADF position & establishment management and the implementation and execution of the enterprise-wide RSD allocation Directive and approval process. This is a newly established role and the key duties include: Supporting the Deputy Director Workforce and Communication in ADF Reserve and Workforce Management activities. Providing guidance and assistance to MPD Branches on ADF establishment and RSD policies and practices, including monitoring, reporting and direction on processes, guidelines and operating procedures. Implementation and execution of the Departmental RSD allocation Directive and approval process. Development of forms for digital platform interfaces to enable business outcomes. Support Head of Military Personnel (HMP) and MPD to deliver on our mission to provide an optimised end-to-end workforce management functions as part of the Defence People System. About our Team The ADF Workforce Officer will work as part of the Business Management Team, which is a Divisional level team within the MPD Executive, working in support of HMP. The Business Management functions include Resource Management, Governance and Assurance, Workforce Management, Procurement and Contracting and Communications. Our staff are subject matter experts, delivering specialist advice and support to HMP and the Branches of MPD. MPD is an integrated workforce comprising of full time and Reserve uniformed military personnel, Australian Public Service (APS) employees and contractors. The successful candidate will have: Proven experience building and sustaining internal and external relationships, with a customer focused approach, across all workforce levels. Strong interpersonal and communication skills that can service a variety of customers of varying workforce literacy. Strong attention to detail. Willingness to show initiative to resolve problems and progress work to meet business objectives. Be a highly motivated, organised and proactive team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in applications within Microsoft suite, including Power BI or have a willingness to become proficient. Proven workforce and human resource management experience is highly desirable.
