About the role The role of Senior M&E Planner is to support the Project Controls Manager by planning the work required, including material and external services, to process work orders and projects through the workshop. Reporting on progress towards achieving delivery dates and on cost performance, with recommendations on how and where to improve performance, is the most important aspects of the Planner’s work. · Convert the tender program into a robust project delivery program. · Ensure the program development follows standard planning principles and the project requirements. · Work with the project delivery team to understand the project resource requirements and resource load for the program. · Working with the project controls manager and the commercial team, establish a procurement program. Monitor and set material safety stock levels in consultation with logistics. · Capture program status for design, procurement, construction and testing & commissioning. Provide a forecast of material/manpower requirements for the timely delivery of the project. · Provide commentary on the project critical path after each program status and recommend program mitigations. · Weekly program status and internal/external reporting. Update the Project Manager on overall performance, program risks and possible improvement strategies. Assist the client with any program-related enquiries. · Regularly record program information and support the commercial team in delay and EOT claims. · Establish work priorities and update these priorities as client’s requirements change. About you 10 years’ experience in planning/scheduling activities in major road or rail tunnelling infrastructure projects Analytical skills and a logical approach to problem solving. Diploma or tertiary qualified education in Engineering, Finance or Project Management preferred Proven ability to display initiative and a team-based approach to work. Strong communication skills (oral & written), including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels, both internally and externally. Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands.
