Description About the Role As a result of continuous company growth, GPA is looking for an enthusiastic Lead/Senior Process Engineer with proven technical experience in the oil and gas, minerals processing, future fuels or similar industries to join our national team, based in Brisbane. As part of the team, you will be responsible for both completing and checking, amongst others: Process design deliverables including basis of design, heat & mass balances, PFDs, P&IDs, process control philosophies, equipment/instrument sizing calculations and data sheets Hazardous area classification reports and drawings Process specific studies and study reports, and Design reviews and risk/process safety assessments. You will also: Act in a client-facing and technical management role as the Process Discipline Lead for multi-discipline projects Participate in project assessment and process safety workshops, and Provide proposal development and client engagement support. This role has the potential to develop into future Team Leader roles within the Process Engineering team, subject to suitability and performance. Skills And Experiences We are seeking someone who is enthusiastic about contributing to the growth of the Process team’s capabilities, mentoring junior engineers, and working collaboratively with other engineering disciplines on multi‑disciplinary projects. To satisfy the requirements of the role as a Senior/Lead Engineer, the candidate must: Have a professional engineering degree that satisfies the entry requirements for chartered membership with IChemE/Engineers Australia, and Be a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) or Chartered Engineer (or with the experience to obtain it). Highly regarded skills would include: Experience in the following: PHAST, PetroSIM, and/or HYSYS software for process simulation, dispersion, and/or consequence analysis HAZID, HAZOP, and LOPA studies as participant, scribe and/or facilitator Site operating experience, either in a project or production role Experience across the project development phases from Concept to Detailed Design, Commissioning and Operations Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively internally and externally with a variety of personnel from different backgrounds, and Proven ability to manage project deliverables to a schedule and budget with consistent, reliable, and dependable performance. A requirement for this role is to complete a satisfactory pre-employment medical check and Australian police clearance.
