We're looking for someone who knows the industry inside out and is ready to apply that knowledge in a regulatory, investigative and customer‑focused environment. As a frontline representative of the QBCC, you will provide expert technical advice, help resolve building disputes, and conduct both proactive and reactive building inspections across Queensland. Your work will directly support consumers, contractors, and industry stakeholders while ensuring compliance with Queensland's building legislation and standards. You'll use your hands‑on industry knowledge to investigate building matters and help uphold building standards across the state. This is a frontline role where your practical experience is valued and your judgement matters. What You'll Bring A current QBCC Builder's Licence or equivalent qualifications/experience in construction, engineering, certification, project management or architecture (mandatory). Ability to obtain a Certificate IV in Government Investigations within 6 months of appointment (mandatory). A current motor vehicle driver's licence and the ability to travel frequently and at short notice across Queensland (mandatory). Strong knowledge of contemporary building standards, codes, legislation and industry practices, with the ability to assess and supervise building work. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and mediation skills combined with high‑level investigative, analytical and problem‑solving abilities, particularly in technical environments. Why Join Us?
