We’ve got the rocks covered but we’re looking for one more incredible person to join our team at Tritton Copper Operations as the Superintendent – Underground Compliance & Operations. The Nitty Gritty Reporting to the Mining Operations Manager, you will be responsible for providing advanced operational and compliance leadership to ensure underground mining activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with statutory requirements. This newly created role plays a critical part in supporting the appointed Mining Engineering Manager (MEM) by maintaining the site compliance framework, monitoring regulatory changes, and ensuring effective implementation of Principal Hazard Management Plans (PHMPs) and engineering control plans. You will conduct inspections, verify critical controls, and lead incident investigations, promoting a strong safety culture and robust risk management across all underground operations. In addition to compliance oversight, you will collaborate with operational and technical teams to deliver production and development targets aligned with approved mine designs and engineering standards. Your responsibilities include mentoring frontline leaders, reinforcing the rationale behind operational standards, and fostering collaboration between operations and engineering to achieve safe, efficient outcomes. You will also lead data capture and reporting processes, prepare compliance and operational summaries, and contribute to budgeting and continuous improvement initiatives. This role demands a proactive leader who can balance statutory obligations with operational priorities and support our frontline leaders to drive performance and safety excellence. Additionally, you will possess the following: Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline. 6–10 years’ experience in underground metalliferous mining, with demonstrated experience leading underground operational teams or in a technical leadership role. Practical and working understanding of mining legislation, PHMPs, risk management, and underground operational practices. Open C Class Manual Drivers Licence Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. High-level analytical and operational problem-solving ability. Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain quality. Demonstrated ability to coach and develop engineering and operational staff. Current Practising Certificate for Mining Engineering Manager (Underground Metalliferous) or the ability and willingness to enrol and obtain Exposure to managing operational or capital projects is highly regarded. The Company Tritton Operations Tritton Copper Operations is a long-life copper mine located near the towns of Nyngan and Cobar in central New South Wales. Commencing production in 2005, Tritton is 100% owned and operated by Aeris Resources and forms the cornerstone of our copper production. Tritton mines from multiple sources and as we look to bring more mines into production, we are are transitioning to a ‘hub-and-spoke’ model where ore is transported to our centralised mill for processing.
