DOGUE Country Retreat is currently seeking a Dog Groomer and/or Animal Attendant to join the team in Berrima, NSW Southern Highlands. In this position, the absolute focus is providing premium and individualised attention to every dog in our care. About the Role: Casual opportunity Availability Weekends and School holidays is preferred Shifts times can vary and be flexible Above award wages. Key Responsibilities: Supervise dogs during playtime and quiet time Manage bookings and other administration Customer service Cleaning duties Ad hoc duties as requested by the Retreat leader About the Role As a Dog Groomer at DOGUE Country Retreat, you will: Groom and style pups according to owner or reception staff instructions and standard grooming styles Ensure all pets are safe and sound during the grooming process Handle general grooming tasks including dematting, bathing, drying, nail trims, and ear cleaning Identify health issues like ear infections or skin conditions and communicate findings to pet owners Coordinate with our reception staff to exceed customer expectations Meet achievable grooming targets while keeping your workspace clean and tidy What We Offer: Retail and service staff discounts and allowances. Work within a fun, and supportive team environment. Be trained by an experienced Retreat Manager and Grooming Manager who both have extensive knowledge of dogs, their care and grooming. About You: Minimum one year experience as a Dog Groomer. Excellent knowledge of different dog breeds, temperaments and behaviours. Strong clipping capability including scissoring skills and able to do some breed specific grooms. A bubbly personality and genuine love and affection for dogs. Teamwork– You must be able to work in a team environment, one where all staff members are respectful, communicate well and are able to depend on each other. Communication & Customer Service – Must have sound customer service focus along with strong communication skills. Physical ability / Time management – This role is physically demanding, must have a “can do” attitude and be prepared to work in all weather conditions. Confidence with handling all types of breeds/sizes of dogs Ability to treat all animals with kindness, patience, respect and compassion, and ensure their safety, health and well-being; Be committed to working safely, and following Standard Operating Procedures.
