About us: Operational Services Officers support clinical staff to deliver the best possible care to patients. From providing nutritious meals, to transporting patients throughout the hospital, to keeping our hospital clean, Operational Services Officers are integral to running an effective and safe hospital. About the role: Support the Operational Services Management team by coordinating and supervising the day-to-day activities of Operational Services staff in food, cleaning, porterage, linen or waste. Assist in preparing rosters, monitor staff movement, maintain duty statements, prioritise workloads and organise replacement staff. Manage the day-to-day work productivity throughout Operational Services and be responsible for organising and managing staff in delegated areas. Conduct regular inspections, assessments and audits of areas to monitor that standards and procedures are met. Where necessary provide operational support to a ward or area, in order to achieve department standards and to ensure service continuity. About you: Demonstrated ability to supervise staff in a large health care facility or similar experience to achieve organisational goals. Demonstrated ability to manage performance issues with staff in their portfolios and to be able to recognise if it needs to be escalated. Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally and sensitively with all levels of staff, patients and the general public. Well-developed ability to identify opportunities for improvement and a demonstrated commitment to continuous quality improvement.
