The Quantity Surveyor will provide on-site commercial and cost management support for our clients mechanical and electrical scope on the Snowy 2.0 project. In this position you will manage project costs, contracts, and variations, ensuring adherence to budget and schedule, while mitigating commercial risk. This QS will play a pivotal role for project costs and commercial matters, with internal teams and allocated subcontractors. Key Responsibilities Perform quantity take-offs for the allocated sections of works to ensure that all works are accurately quantified for progress tracking and payment purposes. Prepare, review, and maintain project cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring financial efficiency throughout the various stages of the project. Monitor site progress on a continuous basis to aid with payment claims, variations and contractual claims. Support Contract Administrators with assessment / verification of monthly subcontractor progress payment claims. Draft scope of works and tender packages to be issued to subcontractors for projects. Ensure that cost forecasting for allocated subcontracts and cost codes is accurately maintained. Skills Demonstrated experience delivering Mechanical and Electrical packages on major infrastructure construction projects Experience with contract administration, cost estimation, and project reporting. Strong knowledge of construction contracts (FIDIC, AS4000, or equivalent). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project control software (Primavera P6, SAP, Aconex). Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline. Professional accreditation preferred (e.g., AIQS or RICS). Site conditions 14 days in, 7 days out. Charter flights from the East Coast. Accommodation and flights covered $160K-$170k super site uplift 2 year contract to begin with Project Information Snowy 2.0 is the next generation of the iconic Snowy Mountains Hydroelectric Scheme, and construction of this major pumped-hydro project is well underway. Once complete, the Scheme will provide 2000 megawatts of dispatchable, on-demand renewable power and approximately 350,000 megawatt hours of large-scale energy storage to the Australian National Electricity Market.
