Role details The Project Lead at the Mackay Community Health Centre is seeking applications for a Project Lead to join their team on a temporary basis. Your opportunity The role of the Project Officer is to support and contribute to small and medium scale Mental Health & Other Drug Service projects within the constraints of scope, budget, schedule and quality; while ensuring they are completed within the Queensland Health project management methodology. In this role you will work collaboratively with the MHHS Capital Projects Team to plan and support the delivery of enhanced infrastructure consistent with the guiding principles of the Queensland Mental Health Commission Act 2013 and the main objectives of the Menta Health Act 2016. About the Team The Mental Health and AOD Service is comprised of eight clinical teams across the MHHS. The Mental Health Service is responsible for the provision of comprehensive, specialised mental health assessment and treatment services across the age-spectrum for people with severe and complex mental health problems. Our services aim to be consumer focused and recovery oriented and are provided in a variety of settings including community, an acute inpatient unit, hospitals and emergency departments. The Mackay Hospital and Health Service (MHHS) completed a business case in 2019 for the refurbishment of the Nelson Street MHHS Community Health Centre which is dedicated to providing Mental Health and Sexual Health services to their community. This planning identified the need for the refurbishment of the MCHC to provide improved health facilities that meet contemporary healthcare standards and facilitate improved operational efficiencies and work practices. The Project is consistent with the Clinical Health Service Plan, in providing contemporary models of care for the delivery on non-acute Mental Health services.
