About your opportunity: The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Program (ATSIHP) aims to bring about quality equitable health outcomes for First Nations people, which are enriched by strong living culture and dignity. The Health Worker Advanced position is part of the ATSIHP General Health Unit (GHU) in partnership with the Senior health Worker and Clinical Nurse. The team aim to provide First Nations people with cultural safety by promoting and advocating for culturally respectful health care practices. The role works collaboratively and is supervised by the Senior Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker in the delivery and evaluation of effective urban-based primary health care initiatives, aimed at improving the health outcomes of First Nations people. This is an identified position - It is a genuine occupational requirement that this position is filled by an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person as permitted by, and arguable under, Sections 25, 104 and 105 of the QLD Anti-Disc.
