About the role The successful applicant would be responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial non-litigated matters leading the provision of legal services. The provision of these services is vital to the TAC’s successful delivery of its strategy. The role will be required to partner with the organisation to provide strategic legal advice and support major procurements. They would also be supporting the General Counsel in developing and implementing innovative commercial/corporate legal risk management strategies. The successful candidate will thrive in a collaborative team environment while managing their own portfolio of work with a high level of autonomy. They will be self‑motivated, proactive, and demonstrate strong initiative in driving outcomes. Strategic thinking and problem‑solving capability are essential, to be able to support the wider organisation goals. About the Team Reporting to the General Counsel, this role sits within the Corporate Legal, Enterprise Governance & Compliance Branch in the Finance and Governance Division. The Finance and Governance Division is responsible for providing Governance & Integrity, Corporate Legal and Finance & Procurement support to the TAC. What we’re looking for Bachelor of Laws Must have a Bachelor of Laws or equivalent and hold a current unrestricted practising certificate and admitted as an Australian Lawyer. Significant experience in a similar role Significant post-admission commercial (non-litigious) legal experience. Government procurement experience highly regarded.
