Your new role An opportunity exists for an experienced, proactive and dynamic individual to join our Recreation Team as the Senior Recreation Coordinator on a Full-Time basis. In this fast paced and multi-faceted role, you will provide direction and support to Wintringham’s Residential Aged Care Recreation team and volunteers. Reporting to the Recreation Program Manager, you will ensure that the recreation services provided by Wintringham are of the highest standard. You will provide leadership and supervision as well as guide and develop the program through a range of innovative and creative recreation plans and strategies. Based at our Head Office, yet offering the opportunity to be out in the field , this role provides a dynamic mix of work environments with regular travel across Melbourne and occasional visits to regional Victoria and Tasmania. You’ll enjoy the autonomy of using your own vehicle (supported by our car allowance) while spending meaningful time on-site. Develop and Maintain the Recreation Programs throughout Wintringham Assist Recreation Coordinators to continually improve the quality of recreation which they facilitate for each resident or client through internal audits, reviews of programs, relevant KPI’s and budgets Maintain the dignity and the integrity of the Recreation Program throughout Wintringham and with our partners Treat all clients with dignity and respect and uphold the fundamental principles of “Options Rights Dignity” which underpins all of Wintringham’s work Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times Ensure service provision is of a high standard, relevant to a client’s assessed needs and is culturally and gender sensitive Pursue any complaint about services without retribution Keep statistics and data as required Leadership and Management Provide a key leadership and supervisory role that guides and develops the program through a range of innovative and creative recreation plans and strategies Provide line management, formal supervision and mentoring to the Recreation Coordinators, Officers and Volunteer Ensure the program continues to be reviewed within a continuous quality improvement framework and maintain relevant accreditation standards Support the Recreation Coordinator and Site/Program Managers to respond to and manage issues and incidents on-site Promote a non-institutional philosophy within the programs by recognising and promoting the rights of Wintringham clients Oversee and ensure compliance to relevant legislative standards and guidelines across the relevant programs Ensure the team is aware of and complies with organisational policies and procedures Ensure continuity of service, via the recruitment and training of suitable recreation staff as required Notify the Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator of any issues relating to staff or client safety including manual handling, infection control, chemical waste or other hazard We are looking for a candidate with the following: You are an experienced leader with a proven track record of providing leadership/supervision in a team environment. Your skills in this area will be further supported with: A degree level qualification in either Recreation, Community Development, Social work, Psychology, Mental health or equivalent discipline Experience in delivering innovative recreational services. Sound understanding of the Aged Care Accreditation Standards, Housing and Homelessness Service sector, My Aged Care, NDIS and other relevant service systems. Knowledge of and commitment to Continuous Quality Improvement. Demonstrated skills in financial management, including monitoring and reporting of variances This sounds great! How do I apply?
