The Transition Branch is responsible for the delivery of the Veterans' Chaplaincy Pilot Program (VCPP). The VCPP was established to explore the benefits and value of delivering veterans' chaplaincy for veterans and families during and following their transition from the Australian Defence Force. The Director, Veterans' Chaplaincy coordinates and leads others to deliver effective, high-quality chaplaincy and pastoral supports for veterans and families, while working closely with the broad veteran support community. This is a rewarding role delivering practical and positive outcomes for veterans and families. The Director Veterans' Chaplaincy is responsible for leading components of the implementation of the VCPP, providing supplementary chaplaincy support in high-need locations, and leading the strategic design of the program. The key duties of the position include Oversee the development of the practices, standards and programs of the VCPP including appropriate capturing of data around service provision Oversee the future strategic direction of Veterans' Chaplaincy and provide input into operational, compliance and general management issues Develop and maintain strategic working relationships with the broader DVA team, Defence and other stakeholders, to develop and deliver military focused chaplaincy effects to enhance suicide prevention and wellbeing for veterans and families through and post transition Provide support and direction to community-based chaplains, faith leaders and appropriate providers for delivery of military focussed chaplaincy support to veterans and families Prepare high quality documents (including reports and briefs) for a range of audiences Other tasks as required.
