The key duties of the position include The Role The Directorate of Navy Engineering - Maritime Warfare (DNE MW) is seeking a highly motivated and accomplished engineering professional to lead the Navy Deployable SIGINT Systems (DNDSS) team, based in Nowra, NSW. This pivotal role involves managing a team of ICT engineering and technical specialists responsible for delivering essential capabilities in Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), Identification Friend or Foe (IFF), and Radar systems. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, technical direction, and operational support to ensure the effective deployment, integration, and sustainment of these systems in support of Navy operations and mission objectives. About our Team This position is located within the Directorate of Navy Engineering's Navy Deployable Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) Systems, based at HMAS Albatross in Nowra. Navy Deployable SIGINT Systems is responsible for delivering engineering and ICT services, providing subject matter expertise, and offering warranted advice on Communication Electronic Support Systems, IFF and Radar technologies in support of the Royal Australian Navy. Our Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in managing a diverse workforce comprising both civilian and military personnel, along with deep expertise in the deployment and support of maritime SIGINT, IFF, and Radar capabilities. A strong understanding of operational environments and Defence engineering practices is essential. Experience in Cyberworthiness, particularly in relation to achieving an Authority to Operate (ATO), will be highly regarded.
