About the role: We have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic Perioperative Nurse Unit Manager to join our team on a full time basis. Monday to Friday - no weekends or public holidays - hospital closed over the Christmas and New Year period. Duties and responsibilities: This role provides support to the GM/ DON and is responsible for providing senior nurse leadership as an integral part of the perioperative team and encompasses the management of the clinical team, ensuring that patients experience the highest standards of service and clinical care. Deliver hospital outcomes in clinical aspects, quality improvement, administration and leadership Promote and drive a culture of continuous improvement and excellence across all areas of the hospital Supporting the GM/ DON with human, physical and financial resources and quality activities Support nursing team to deliver safe, evidence based patient care Education, mentoring and leadership of the perioperative team Ensure patient safety and communication with surgical team is always a key focus Deliver education and support to patients for the management of their recovery Building positive relationships with Visiting Medical Officers and other stakeholders About you: You have a genuine passion for nursing, leadership, providing world-class patient care and adding value to Australian healthcare. You will have: Solid experience in a comparable leadership role in a Perioperative setting Tertiary qualifications in Nursing or similar Current AHPRA registration Experience with Quality Improvement activities, Infection Control Management and Accreditation processes Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills A passion for education, mentoring and leadership Advanced clinical and technical skills including problem solving skills Flexibility to adapt and respond to change in a fast-paced environment Culture and Benefits: At Nexus, caring for our people, patients and employees is at the centre of everything we do.
