About You The Project Officer leads and coordinates projects and event initiatives that support building the capacity of mainstream community to provide inclusive and accessible services to support with disability. Reporting to the Manager, Disability Strategy and Transformation, you will lead collaborative events within SSI and work closely with internal and external stakeholders. This role requires highly developed communication and event organisational skills, with responsibility for delivering high-quality events and project plans within tight timeframes. You will bring a strong understanding of the NDIS, as well as a practical, working knowledge of the role of Local Area Coordinators (LACs). A strong connection to business needs and a continuous improvement mindset are essential to ensure effective project scoping and implementation. You’ll bring proven experience working in the sector, with a strong background in leading and coordinating community events. This role requires you to have experience and be confident in managing projects end-to-end, including reporting through project management tools, meeting project timeframes and being able to successfully measure impact and outcomes. You will require excellent communication skills that include experience in liaising with a wide range of stakeholders, including people with disability and community organisations. Essential Criteria Lead the planning and delivery of events in partnership with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring all activities support the strategic priorities of the SSI LAC program. Use event management principles and practices to coordinate and manage multiple events and priorities, managing timelines, budget, and building strong relationships with stakeholders. Support SSI LAC Leadership team in developing and delivering initiatives in alignment with operational and strategic priorities. Project Management experience including completing and reporting through project management tools, ensuring milestones are delivered on time within scope and within budget and ensuring high‑quality execution across all stages of planning and delivery. Report preparation and writing that clearly demonstrates the outcomes and measurement of impact of events and projects that have been delivered.
