We are seeking an enthusiastic two Diploma Educator to join our team at Deer Park West Kindergarten for our School readiness Funding. For over 40 years, Deer Park West Kindergarten has delivered high-quality, play-based early learning programs for families in Melbourne’s west. We celebrate every child’s individuality and achievements, creating a safe, stimulating environment that fosters curiosity and lifelong learning. Our holistic approach ensures children learn best through play, supported by experienced educators who value family partnerships. Kindergarten is a special time in a child’s life, and we make it extraordinary. School Readiness Funding is additional funding provided by the Department of Education to address educational disadvantage. This is achieved through building the capacity of educators and families to respond to children’s learning and development. As an additional educator within the group, you will support the environment, educators and children by providing individualized support, reinforcing learning experiences, and fostering a nurturing environment to enhance each child's development and engagement. There are two part time, fixed term positions available commencing in February 2026: Position 1 - 15 hours per week on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10am to 3pm ending Decemeber 2026. Position 2 - 6 hours per week on a Tuesday and Wednesday from 10am to 1pm ending August 2026. About you You hold a Diploma in Early Childhood or equivalent ACECQA approved qualification You're reflective, curious and purpose-led, with a deep commitment to making a difference. You're open to learning and understanding the unique needs of every child. You're a critical thinker and collaborative team member. You have a drive to grow and improve continually. You value kindness and respect. You have great knowledge of the child safe standards and early childhood regulations. You hold a WWCC and a first aid certificate. Experienced in supporting and working with children with diverse needs is desirable. About the role Work alongside the team to provide tailored support and accommodations to meet individual needs, ensuring an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all children. Build and maintain positive and meaningful relationships with children, families, staff and the local community Be a motivated and driven Educator, who will actively contribute to the program, through detailed observations & documentation Build positive behaviour guidance strategies and provide spontaneous play-based learning experiences to extend on children's learning Contribute to a child safe environment ensuring standards are met on a daily basis Make regular brief reflections about how your work contributes towards the service goal/intentional area of support.
