6 months contract role with possible extension Attractive daily pay rate $ 850 per day plus super Hybrid work arrangement (WFH Parramatta office) PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: You will be responsible for providing procurement support to manage critical SCADA‑related sourcing and contract governance for a large government department. You will deliver best-in-class procurement services to ensure that the business gets the goods, services and facilities it needs, when it needs them and for the right total cost of ownership. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Partnering with the business to lead sourcing projects, support commercial negotiations and manage contracts across the lifecycle. Provide commercial advice to the business and assist with financial management as appropriate. Contribute to create project pipeline visibility to support resource planning including proactive engagement with business to ensure they can also support activities. Assist with the development, implementation and management of category strategies in line with the overall direction of the defined category plan, including the preparation of stakeholders’ engagement documents. Lead the delivery of sourcing & non-sourcing initiatives which deliver material benefits as recognised by the business. Manage the end-to-end sourcing process including task brief, option / hypothesis development and testing, procurement strategy development, market engagement, evaluation, negotiation of commercial and contractual terms, contract formulation and award. Take on contract management responsibility for assigned contract. Provide end-to-end support of contract management, including but not limited to pricing reviews, contract variation, contract re-negotiation, contract renewal and termination. Provide assistance when dealing with contractual issues as they are raised, and consult with the business, legal, insurance and compliance to develop recommended resolution. Enable and support Procurement Manager to apply effective and consistent Panel management process. Support supplier relationship activities for major and strategic suppliers. Draw out and articulate customer and/or business requirements and translates them into selection criteria, Service Level Agreement (SLA's) within a contract and on-going performance evaluation criteria. Ensure that supplier performance including sustainability is tracked and reported, and corrective actions are taken to improve or maintain high level of supplier performance. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: 5 years’ experience working in procurement or commercial management function in a large complex organisation. Relevant degree qualification (e.g. Supply Chain, Finance, Business) or experience deemed equivalent Knowledge of NEC4/Government IT contracts and SAP fluency is strongly preferred. Professional Procurement qualification such as CIPS (or equivalent) is highly desirable. Solid understanding of strategic sourcing, contract development, contract and supplier management and procurement metrics reporting. Strong and proactive stakeholder management skills.
