Your role within the team As part of the growing Quality Team, the Quality Control Technician is responsible for the day-to-day testing and retention sample program. This will include environmental testing, verification and validation testing, complaint investigation and testing/inspection of all material receivals and finished goods. The role is part of a growing team and will work closely with operations, and other quality functions such as Quality Assurance to assist in quality and related testing/inspection tasks. Key responsibilities include: Conduct environmental monitoring, including swab, air, and water sampling. Collect and test raw materials and packaging materials, including in-house packaging inspections and micro testing Support raw material and finished product release by reviewing COAs, conducting sensory and micro testing (when required), and coordinating external lab testing. Manage finished product testing samples and review laboratory results. Liaise with external laboratories to obtain test results in timely manner. Perform sensory and powder quality testing for finished products, base powder and lactose, and provide accurate test results and observations on report. Maintain laboratory cleanliness and organization, perform internal instrument calibration, and manage regular re-stocking of laboratory consumables. Maintain retention samples, laboratory records, reports, and documentation. Assisting with validation, verification and trials Ensure compliance with Australian regulations, NSW food safety standards, export standards, and importing country requirements. To make sure we’re setting new starters up for success, we ask that you meet a few criteria relevant to the role to be considered for this opportunity: Relevant tertiary qualification in Food Engineering, Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related discipline Demonstrated knowledge and experience with GMP Sound understanding of manufacturing processes Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all organisational levels and with external stakeholders. High attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
