ABOUT US The Conservation Council of South Australia Inc (CCSA) is the Peak Body for conservation in South Australia, representing over 50 of the State’s environment, conservation and heritage organisations. We are an independent non-profit, non-party-political and community-based organisation providing resources, advice and representation for the SA environment movement. We also lead and/or support many of the key conservation campaigns in South Australia. We are known for our success in developing long term community development, education, and on-ground environmental restoration programs. CCSA operates across 5 broad campaign and policy areas: - Climate Action, Protecting Nature, Our Murray, Nuclear Waste and Living Sustainably. The 30 by 30 national protected areas campaign is national alliance of environment organisations working to ensure Australia achieves the target of protecting 30% of Australia’s land by 2030 and increasing funding for nature to 1% of the federal budget. On behalf of the 30 by 30 national alliance, CCSA invites applications for the position of 30 by 30 Communications Officer. Purpose of the role Working as part of a national campaign team, the Digital Campaigner will coordinate the development and implementation of digital campaigning and communications for the 30 by 30 national protected areas campaign. This role involves crafting and delivering a robust digital communications strategy, developing engaging content, managing digital platforms, and working closely with the Pew Charitable Trusts and other 30 by 30 alliance organisations, to achieve the campaign’s goals and secure ongoing support for conservation initiatives. At its core the position’s role will also leverage CCSA’s power to influence and inspire both decision-makers and the community to shift in a way that aligns with the speed necessary to address and solve our environmental challenges. Key responsibilities As the Digital Campaigner for the 30 by 30 campaign, you will play a central role in building public support to protect 30% of Australia’s land by 2030. You will: Lead the development and implementation of national digital strategies that engage and mobilise supporters across Australia. Produce quality and high-impact content (visual, written, and video) for digital platforms to support 30 by 30 campaign objectives. Manage the strategy, content creation and deployment of digital advertising campaigns, including targeting and data management. (eg. Meta, Google Ads) Support campaign partners to amplify content and grow their digital communications capacity Monitor and evaluate campaign performance and use digital analytics and insights to revise tactics to improve campaign reach and performance Collaborate with the national campaign team to align digital efforts with broader communications and advocacy strategies. Work with your South Australian team members to create and deliver events and other activities that inspire members of the South Australian community to stand up for the environment. Identify and leverage strategic opportunities for public engagement, media amplification, and digital innovation. Provide expert advice on digital campaigning, brand management, and audience growth strategies. Selection criteria – Skills, Knowledge, and Experience You are a creative and strategic communicator informed by data, with a passion for following digital trends. You bring: Passion to achieve great outcomes for Australia’s nature. Demonstrated experience using digital tools and strategic communications to create change. Strong skills in writing and content creation, with an eye for messaging, storytelling and audience engagement. Deep understanding of how to deliver compelling communications and campaign strategies on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn (paid and organic). Experience in coordinating projects, managing timelines and working with multiple stakeholders. A proactive mindset, with the ability to manage multiple projects as part of a collaborative team. Graphic design, photography, or video editing skills are desirable but not essential. Willingness to travel occasionally.
