We strive to deliver care as it should be – with people right at the centre About the Opportunity Baptcare delivers Family Violence response interventions to a range of diverse cohorts in the community, providing therapeutic supports to adult and children victim survivors, as well as women who use force in their intimate relationships. Baptcare delivers two programs; WAVES (Positive Wellbeing after Violence Ends) and SHIFT (Positive Support and Healing creates Innovative Forward Thinking). The Family Violence Response Practitioner delivers evidence-based family violence group programs, such as SHIFT, which provides a 16-week program to women who use force in their intimate relationships. As a specialist Family Violence service, the program aligns with best practice, encompassing a focus on therapeutic group work, with a focus on group members’ motivations, intent, and consequences of their actions with regards to awareness of their use of force. The Family Violence Response Practitioner is part of an integrated team focused on therapeutic recovery and behavioural change, alongside an integrated team of therapeutic practitioners supporting victim survivor recovery, after violence ends. Conduct thorough intake and assessment, risk assessment and safety planning Facilitate trauma-informed therapeutic groups Provide evidence-based short to medium therapeutic interventions and case support to women who use force in intimate relationships What You'll Do Conduct risk assessments and develop safety plans with clients Provide crisis intervention and ongoing case management support Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions Connect clients with appropriate community resources and services Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including police, courts, and healthcare providers Maintain accurate case documentation and participate in regular supervision Who You Are Hold a relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or related field Have experience working with family violence or trauma-informed care Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrate cultural awareness and respect for diversity Maintain current Working with Children Check and Police Check Hold a current driver's license How to Apply Click 'Apply Now' to submit your application.
