DAIRY HERD TECHNICIAN is required at Singleton NSW to assist the dairy farmer in breeding, raising and managing livestock by undertaking technical animal husbandry tasks such as pregnancy testing, artificial insemination, lactation management and providing nutrition assessment and advice. The successful applicant must have sound experience and knowledge of swing milking systems. The farm comprises 450 ha of mainly alluvial river flats irrigated by central pivots, linears and travellers. Our pasture-based dairy is currently milking 380 cows and expanding to 600 in the near future. The dairy is 24 swing over. The skill level required is a diploma or higher qualification or at least 3 years of relevant work experience. An additional 1 year of experience is preferred once the skill level is met.
