Why this role matters The Salvation Army (Salvos) is one of the largest providers of homelessness services across the country. Our philosophy is that every person should be afforded dignity and respect and that no one should be without a safe, affordable, and secure home. We provide services and support to adults, and families with accompanying children in the form of accommodation, case management, assertive outreach, financial assistance , community connection and referral services. About the role As a Homelessness Case Manager , this is your opportunity to responsible for providing immediate and ongoing support for clients experiencing homelessness, through the provision of a range of intervention options through case management support including case planning. Reporting to the Team Leader , this is full-time role is contracted until January 2027 , located in West Melbourne, VIC . How you will make an impact Deliver client centred case management by developing, implementing and reviewing individualised case plans using strengths based and trauma informed approaches, supporting client engagement, self determination and progress towards independence and long term housing outcomes Advocate and coordinate supports by working collaboratively with clients, partner agencies and allied health services to facilitate access to housing, health, legal, community, education and specialist services, including support with applications, referrals and transitions Maintain high quality practice and compliance by ensuring accurate documentation, data entry, reporting and critical incident management in line with organisational policies, funding requirements and legislative standards Contribute to program development and continuous improvement through active participation in team meetings, service reviews, training, supervision and organisational change, while sharing good practice and supporting a positive learning culture Work safely and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team by upholding professional boundaries, effective communication, occupational health and safety requirements, child safety standards and respectful, accountable workplace behaviour What you will bring A Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or related field Relevant experience working with vulnerable people in the social service sector including case-management Able to demonstrate knowledge of homelessness including context, causes, models, and approaches relating to best practice A current VIC Drivers Licence and employee Working with Children’s Check What we offer The Salvos offer eligible employee's a well-balanced package of meaningful benefits including: Salary packaging up to $15,900 tax free $2,650 meal entertainment benefit.
