Location: Clare Hospital, SA Permanent Part-time Role (5 days per fortnight) About the role Clare Hospital is located a 90 minute drive north of Adelaide in the Yorke and Northern Local Health Network, situated in the beautiful Clare Valley. Here, you can experience the Clare Valley Riesling Trail or hike through the Red Banks Conservation Park with it’s rich red cliffs and spring fed waterholes, or the Spring Gully Conservation Park. There is also the Landscapes of Change interpretive walking trail to learn about what the landscape was like when megafauna walked the earth like the giant wombat. Clare is home to over 30 wineries, most of which are small and family run. Known as the home of Australian Riesling, it’s one of Australia’s oldest wine producing areas with a wine-making history dating back over 160 years. The Clare Valley has a range of festivals and events and markets over the year including the Clare Valley Gourmet Weekend, which is held in May of every year, when cellar doors, restaurants, cafes and other venues across the region host black tie dinners, wine tastings and concerts. As a Senior Pharmacist based in Clare , you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred pharmacy services within your designated area. Working with a high degree of professional autonomy, you’ll provide expert medicines information and therapeutic advice to patients, medical and nursing staff, and the wider multidisciplinary team. Guided by professional standards, hospital policies and contemporary pharmacy practice, you’ll support safe, evidence-based decision-making and help optimise patient outcomes through the quality use of medicines in a safe and cost-effective manner. This is an ongoing position working five days per fortnight (days and hours/day can be negotiated) , offering a great balance of professional impact and flexibility. You’ll be responsible for the organisation, management and day-to-day operation of the pharmacy service, ensuring care is responsive to the needs of the Yorke and Northern community. While the role has no direct reports, you may provide day-to-day supervision and support to pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, technicians, interns, students and administrative staff. Working closely with the Director of Pharmacy, senior colleagues, clinicians and community and primary health providers, you’ll help strengthen continuity of care and make a meaningful difference for patients across the region. About You You’re a confident, experienced hospital pharmacist who brings clinical expertise, sound judgement and a collaborative approach to delivering safe, high-quality pharmacy services.
