Wastewater Services Technician We’re seeking a reliable and hands-on Wastewater Services Technician to join our team, based out of Toowoomba. This role suits someone who enjoys outdoor, practical work, values clear systems and processes, and is looking for long-term, stable employment with a well-established operation. You’ll be responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair of wastewater and sewerage systems across the region, ensuring systems operate safely, efficiently, and in line with regulatory requirements. The role also involves customer interaction, job coordination, and supporting the delivery of wastewater services from enquiry through to completion. Full training is provided. Applicants with plumbing, mechanical, or similar trade experience but limited wastewater exposure are encouraged to apply. Supportive, professional team environment Key Responsibilities Servicing & Maintenance of Treatment Systems Service residential and commercial wastewater systems Inspect, clean, test, and adjust system components (aerators, pumps, blowers, dosing units, irrigation pumps) Complete compliance checks and service documentation Breakdowns, Repairs & Troubleshooting Diagnose faults and identify root causes Repair or replace failed components Respond to breakdowns professionally and efficiently Site Visits, Documentation & Reporting Attend customer sites across Toowoomba and surrounding areas Collect site information and record findings using templates, checklists, and photos Complete job cards, service logs, and follow-up recommendations Customer Communication Handle service and sales enquiries professionally Explain system issues and required works clearly Provide a high standard of customer service and represent the business professionally Scheduling & Workflow Plan service runs efficiently using job management systems Ensure parts, fittings, and tools are organised ahead of jobs Work independently while maintaining communication with the office Key Attributes The successful candidate will be mechanically minded with strong problem-solving skills and a practical, logical approach to fault finding. They will be process-driven, with a strong attention to detail and consistency in documentation and reporting. Reliability and punctuality are essential, along with the ability to work independently while staying connected with the wider team. Experience & Requirements Essential Certificate III in Water Operations, Plumbing, Mechanical, or similar Experience in plumbing, wastewater, mechanical maintenance, or a related field Valid manual driver’s licence Comfortable working outdoors and in confined spaces Ability to complete documentation accurately Desirable Experience servicing STPs (Taylex, BioCycle, Ozzi Kleen, FujiClean, etc.) Basic electrical or diagnostic knowledge Customer-facing experience
