What you’ll be doing (Key accountabilities) Coordination and Support Review Melba structure to develop strategies to promote representation of people with lived experience across the organisation. Implement and embed lived experience throughout the organisation, including board and governance levels. Encourage a positive, individualised, accessible and inclusive learning and working environment. Coordinate and provide practical support for lived experience members in agreed advisory forums and engagement activities. Ensure inclusive participation practices are embedded in all meetings and engagement activities, including by developing and using accessible materials to facilitate engagement and participation of all lived experience members, regardless of their communication preferences/styles. Support lived experience members to develop, establish and implement an annual work plan of activities, in line with their engagement/role and applicable terms of reference. Lead the recruitment and onboarding of lived experience members. Support ongoing mentoring and capacity building opportunities for lived experience members to participate confidently in engagement activities, forums and governance roles. Facilitate the development and maintenance of partnerships with existing community-based advocacy groups. Support lived experience members to engage in feedback and consultation processes with Melba’s leadership and Board, in an accessible, inclusive and empowering way. Support lived experience members to participate in staff recruitment activities, induction and other capability development initiatives. Support lived experience members to actively participate in and present at conferences, workshops and expos as representatives of Melba. Encourage the promotion of Melba services and values in the community. Track and regularly report on agreed outcomes. Gather and share stories, feedback and lessons learned to improve Melba’s lived experience inclusion practices. Contribute to reviews and evaluations of Melba’s governance and participation frameworks. Financial Assist in annual budget development based on projected/ anticipated activities of lived experience members/groups. Maintain and acquit expenditure in line with annual budget parameters. Demonstrated commitment to service excellence, human rights and zero tolerance. Excellent interpersonal and collaborative management skills. High level written and verbal communication/presentation skills. High level organisational and time management skills including a proven ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work autonomously. Requirements A current First Aid and CPR Certificate. A current NDIS Worker Screening and Working with Children Check (we can support you through the process of obtaining one or both checks if you don’t already have them). The ability and relevant driver’s license to perform travel where required. Compliance with OHS&W regulations, legislation, and Policies and Procedures is required. Successful completion of pre-employment safety screening checks, mandatory training, and their subsequent renewals is necessary.
