Fawkner Motor Wreckers is a well-established automotive business specialising in vehicle dismantling, repairs, and mechanical services. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Motor Mechanic to join our team. Key Responsibilities Detect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in engines and vehicle components Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components Inspect, repair, and replace worn or defective parts and reassemble mechanical components Refer to service manuals and diagnostic tools as required Perform scheduled maintenance services including oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups Ensure vehicles comply with pollution and safety regulations Reassemble engines and components after repair Test and adjust mechanical parts to ensure proper performance Diagnose and test parts using computer-based diagnostic equipment Inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or advise on required work (where licensed) Respond to vehicle breakdown service calls when required Requirements AQF Certificate III in Motor Mechanics (or equivalent) Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills Experience with petrol engines and lightweight motor vehicles Knowledge of transmissions, suspension, steering, and braking systems Ability to work independently and as part of a team Registration or licensing may be required What We Offer Competitive salary based on experience Stable, full-time employment Supportive and experienced team environment Opportunity for long-term career growth How to Apply Interested candidates are encouraged to send their resume to: fawknerwrackers@gmail.com
