Tapavino is a much-loved wine bar and restaurant in the heart of The Rocks, known for its European-inspired cuisine, extensive wine list and warm, vibrant atmosphere. We pride ourselves on quality ingredients, consistency and creating memorable dining experiences for our guests. We are now seeking a passionate and skilled Chef to join our kitchen team. About the Role This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen, ideal for a chef who enjoys working with fresh produce, classic techniques and modern presentation. Key Duties & Responsibilities Prepare, cook and present dishes to a high standard in line with Tapavino’s menu and quality expectations Assist with menu planning, development of new dishes and seasonal specials Ensure consistency, portion control and presentation across all services Manage food preparation, cooking and plating during busy service periods Monitor food quality at all stages of preparation and service Assist in estimating food and labour costs Order, receive and store food supplies and kitchen stock correctly Minimise wastage and maintain cost control procedures Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and WHS standards Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment Train and support junior kitchen staff and kitchen hands Work closely with senior chefs and management to meet business goals About You Trade-qualified Chef or equivalent experience Proven experience in a busy restaurant or hospitality venue Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and presentation Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Excellent time management and organisational skills Strong team player with a positive attitude High standards of personal hygiene and professionalism What We Offer Work in a popular venue in one of Sydney’s most iconic locations Supportive team environment Opportunity to grow and develop your career in hospitality Click “Apply for this job” to register your interest in this fulltime salaried position with a starting salary $76K - $82K (plus super)
