The Geelong Library and Heritage Centre is an innovative library committed to serving our diverse community by providing access to information, resources, and programs that enrich lives and inspire lifelong learning. We are seeking a dedicated Information Services Librarian (ISL) to join the team and continue to help us build and grow our library services. The ISL is responsible for developing and delivering information retrieval, technology training and social connection programs, as well as providing individual support to customers and library staff. The ISL will also develop and sustain partnerships with relevant stakeholders, with a special focus on the library’s role as a dynamic and pivotal contributor to community information, technology needs and social connection. Key Responsibilities: Develop and deliver high-quality information services that support learning, literacy, digital access and social connection for our community. Foster opportunities for community connection through adult programming and facilitated sessions to meet community needs and interests, aligning with the GRLC Library Plan 2025-29 Embrace emerging technologies and online information resources, with a strong focus on access and inclusion. Collaborate across library teams to support adult education, reader advisory and community engagement initiatives. Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with relevant stakeholders Demonstrate leadership skills and support library operations and contribute to a positive, inclusive team culture. What we are looking for: Bachelor's degree or graduate diploma in a relevant field. Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service and fostering a welcoming and inclusive library environment. Experience in information services, digital technologies and online information retrieval. Experience delivering training, guidance or one-on-one support to adults. Experience in team leadership. Demonstrates adaptable, curious and community-focused, who enjoys working in customer service-based environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Knowledge of emerging trends and technologies in library services, including digital literacy initiatives. Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to embrace innovation and change in a dynamic library setting.
