The Position The Environmental Planner plays a key role in shaping positive environmental outcomes, providing expert advice on environmental impacts and approvals to both internal teams and external stakeholders. This role leads and guides the delivery of environmental actions and initiatives under the Albury Wodonga Regional Natural Environment Strategy, while actively championing strong environmental outcomes on behalf of Council. Tasks and responsibilities Provide an advisory service in regards to environmental planning and assessment and approvals (Part 4 and Part 5 activities under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979). Provide an advisory service in regards to strategic direction to ensure environmental outcomes underpin AlburyCity's strategies, policies and operating procedures. Undertake regulatory impact assessment of changes in planning, environmental, natural resource management, biodiversity and vegetation management legislation, regulations and related on AlburyCity. In collaboration with Wodonga City Council, implement the Albury Wodonga Regional Natural Environment Strategy. Develop and deliver a training programs to internal and external stakeholders on AlburyCity's Environmental Approvals Framework and related environmental management policies and procedures. Qualifications and experience Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science/Planning or Natural Resource Management or related discipline. Class C (standard) Driver's Licence (compulsory to have and maintain) Hours Based on a 35 Hour Week, with actual days and times being 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday, with an RDO in accordance with the AlburyCity RDO guidelines.
