As Regional Speech and Language Pathologist, you will specifically: Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Work directly with young people who are subject to youth justice interventions to assess and treat speech, language and communication difficulties. Provide expert advice, consultation and support for practitioners on complex, profession-specific practice and client issues. This may include collaboration or co ordination across disciplines, programs and business units within the Department and other agencies. Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop and implement individualised support and intervention plans to assist young people in their on-going development. Promote flexible and appropriate models of practice and support and advise on the development of practice within Youth Justice and their partners in supporting Youth Justice clients who have complex speech and communication needs (profession-specific and cross discipline). Prepare and maintain high standard reports and client records consistent with departmental and professional requirements. * Lead the development and implementation of training programs for Youth Justice staff and other government and non-government agencies.
