About the Role We’re seeking a passionate and experienced Chef to join our kitchen team and lead the preparation of quality meals that reflect the Ulmarra Hotel’s reputation for great pub dining. Key Duties & Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items in line with the venue’s standards for quality, taste and presentation. Assist with menu planning, specials and seasonal offerings that showcase fresh, local ingredients. Ensure consistent portioning, plating and culinary excellence during lunch and dinner services. Manage food preparation and station setup efficiently for each service period. Monitor and maintain inventory, food stock rotation, ordering and supplier coordination. Maintain rigorous food safety, hygiene and workplace health & safety standards. Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff and foster a collaborative team environment. Ensure kitchen areas, equipment and workstations are clean, organised and compliant. Coordinate with front-of-house staff to deliver smooth, timely service. What We’re Looking For Proven experience as a Chef in a busy restaurant, pub or similar hospitality setting. Strong knowledge of food safety practices and kitchen hygiene. Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. A positive attitude, reliability and professional presentation.
