The ideal candidate will have procurement and purchasing experience within construction or steel manufacturing, be process-driven and have experience procuring raw materials. Location: Hybrid - Parramatta and Marsden Park Hours: 8:30am – 5:00pm 1 hour break, Monday to Friday Casual rate: $54-60/hour About the Opportunity A leading manufacturer in the building and infrastructure sector is seeking a Procurement Coordinator to be responsible for planning, sourcing, negotiating, and coordinating for their operations team and keeping their supply chain running at its best. The role supports the strategic and operational objectives of the supply chain. Key Responsibilities Draft, review, and issue all procurement and delivery-related quotes; coordinate approvals; ensure alignment with client expectations and procurement policies. Source and compare quotes from multiple vendors; validate stock availability; optimise value, lead times, and profit margins. Maintain preferred supplier lists; manage onboarding/offboarding; handle vendor escalations, RMA requests, and warranty claims. Monitor delivery timelines, ETA blowouts, and procurement risks (e.g. shortages, price volatility); ensure follow-ups and resolution. Reviewing the performance of suppliers to ensure they deliver on their obligations to the business and are agile to respond to the varying needs of the business. Maintain and update BOM templates. Generate reports on cost savings, vendor performance, quote turnaround, and process improvement opportunities. Identifying areas for improvement in the procurement process, implementing best practices, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies. Maintaining MRP for relevant information associated with suppliers and materials. What You’ll Bring Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a procurement, purchasing, or supply chain coordination role within construction & steel manufacturing. Proven experience managing purchase orders, coordinating deliveries, and maintaining supplier relationships. Problems solving skills, assist PM with bringing in improvements in the processes. Familiarity with raw material or inventory control processes and understanding of production planning requirements. Experience of liaising with and creating effective working relationships across cross-functional teams such as Operations, Production, Warehouse, and Finance. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, process-oriented environment with shifting priorities and deadlines. Competence in using procurement or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Pronto, or similar) and strong proficiency with Advanced Microsoft Excel and Outlook. A proactive approach to identifying delays or supply risks and collaborating to find timely solutions.
