We are now seeking a Senior Grid Connection Engineer to help ensure our projects achieve technically robust, commercially sound and future‑ready connections to the National Electricity Market (NEM). This role sits at the heart of the clean energy transition, working across feasibility, design, connection approval, testing and commissioning for utility‑scale renewable and storage projects. The Opportunity Reporting to the Senior Manager - Grid & Electrical Engineering, as the Senior Grid Connection Engineer, you will act as a subject matter expert across the full project lifecycle and provide leadership in: Grid Connection Strategy & Approvals Lead development of grid connection strategies, evaluating viable connection options and system strength considerations. Manage and review PSSE/PSCAD models and oversee consultant grid studies. Lead Generator Performance Standards (GPS) preparation, negotiation and approvals with AEMO, TNSP/DNSPs. Coordinate technical inputs to connection applications, registration processes and R2 testing. Engineering & Technical Delivery Provide design inputs for substation layouts, electrical reticulation, collector systems and BoP interface requirements. Review grid and electrical specifications in EPC/OEM contracts and support commercial negotiations. Identify grid opportunities within the NEM and inform project design, energy yield and cost optimisation. Operational & Compliance Support Lead GPS compliance monitoring for operational assets and guide model updates when required. Provide specialist support for commissioning, hold‑point testing and operational grid performance investigations. Stakeholder Engagement Act as a key technical interface with AEMO, network service providers, OEMs and specialist consultants. Work closely with internal Development, Delivery, Operations and Commercial teams to ensure alignment across project stages. About You You bring deep technical understanding and leadership capability, including: Technical Experience Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. Extensive experience in grid connection engineering within the NEM (ideally 5 years). Proficiency in PSSE, PSCAD and/or PowerFactory. Strong grasp of NER, AEMO processes and TNSP/DNSP connection frameworks. Experience across wind, solar or BESS projects highly regarded.
