Job Description Full Time, Permanent About the Role Reporting to the Program Leader – Counselling, the Lecturer is responsible for contributing to the delivery of the counselling higher education courses, and development, teaching and assessment of subjects in the counselling higher education courses. This is an ideal role for academics seeking to transition from sessional teaching or professional practice into a stable academic pathway with long-term career prospects. Key Responsibilities Teaching and Assessment: Developing and delivering lectures, tutorials and practical teaching sessions, including assessing student demonstrations and encouraging student engagement. Preparing and maintaining teaching and assessment materials, including study guides, online content, assessments, marking rubrics, and subject sites on the Higher Education Learning Portal (HELP) Supporting students through face-to-face, phone and email consultation, identifying students at risk, implementing learning support plans, and marking assessments in line with policy and timeframes. Subject Development, Evaluation, and Review: Ensuring subjects are developed and delivered in accordance with approved subject outlines, accreditation requirements and institutional standards. Contributing to subject and course evaluation processes by providing feedback and identifying improvements to teaching, assessment and learning materials. Updating subject outlines, assessments and learning resources, and ensuring pre- and post-assessment moderation requirements are met. Other Duties: Maintaining accurate compliance documentation, and assisting with academic governance and accreditation-related paperwork as required. Participating in academic governance, professional development, scholarship activities, team planning, and complying with institutional policies, procedures and codes of conduct.
