The role ALS Geochemistry is seeking a hands-on and adaptable Maintenance All Rounder to join our Maintenance team in Malaga. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, this Full Time position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in tackling a wide range of general maintenance tasks within a laboratory environment. The role involves working on a variety of building projects that extend beyond carpentry or construction. Candidates with knowledge or experience in additional trades, such as welding, plumbing, tiling, painting, or demolition, will be highly regarded. The successful applicant will receive comprehensive on-the-job training in all aspects of routine laboratory equipment maintenance to ensure a thorough understanding of each task while maintaining compliance with ALS HSE policies at all times. Strong communication skills are essential, as you’ll be required to liaise promptly and effectively with other maintenance team members, section supervisors, and Facilities Management regarding equipment issues or downtime. This role also offers an excellent opportunity to expand your skills in the maintenance and repair of a wide range of on-site equipment. The essentials Proven experience in general maintenance, repairs, or building projects. Carpentry and/or joinery experience will be highly regarded. Ability to read drawings and carry out minor building tasks such as cutting timber, installing shelving, and hanging doors. Current manual C-class driver’s licence. Flexibility to travel between sites within the Perth region using your own transport. Some mechanical experience is beneficial but not essential. Knowledge and skills in other trades, or a strong willingness to learn. Flexibility to work occasional overtime on weekends. Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision while contributing effectively as part of a team. Strong work ethic and reliability.
