About the Role We are seeking a Junior Civil Estimator to join our New Energy business at UGL. The Estimator is responsible for providing input into the preparation of estimates to be submitted to prospective clients. Key Responsibilities Technical Assist the estimating team in delivering accurate and timely estimates. Assist in preparing preliminary proposals and attend initial review meetings after tender allocation. Assist in preparing Direct and Indirect Job Cost estimates within UGL’s Tendering Software as directed. Attend meetings with internal technical experts to gather information for tender preparation. Maintain contact with suppliers and sub-contractors to obtain pricing and stay updated on new products. Assist in preparing reports and attend tender reviews. Assist in completing final submissions for presentation to clients. Assist in analysing lost bids to determine reasons and variances. Assist in handover of each estimate to operations for efficient knowledge transfer. Ensure estimating time is allocated to correct project codes. Undertake ad-hoc projects and tasks as directed. Other Undertake all site inductions as requested by clients. Actively participate in learning and development programs. Portray a professional approach at all times. Maintain a tidy, organised, and safe workspace. Comply with all UGL systems, processes, and standards. Qualifications & Requirements Minimum 1 year of estimating experience in solar, utilities, resource, or infrastructure sectors. Degree or Diploma in Engineering desirable. Skills in estimation software and packages. Strong oral and written communication skills, including negotiation and influencing. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook.
