Our client is a busy Engineering and Sheet Metal Manufacturer located in Penrith. The Industrial Powder Coater operates, maintains and cleans powder coating equipment within the manufacturing and production facilities and ensures all processes are carried out in a safe manner according to work methods and quality guidelines. Responsibilities: The Industrial Powder Coater will work in the Powder Coating and Finishing area within the Boval operations. - Prepare a variety of surfaces including, Steel, Aluminium, Galvanised and Stainless Steel surfaces as required. - Apply protective powder coatings to items such as equipment and miscellaneous metalwork. - Maintain and check records of coated parts and colours. - Ability to change colour and clean the booth multiple times during the shift. - Move racks in and out of the oven, reaching high temperatures. - Assist in solvent cleaning and safe use of chemicals. - Preparing metal components for hanging onthe powder coating production line. - Plugging, capping and masking as required for the ideal application of Powder Coat. - Maintaining and cleaning all Powder Coating equipment. - Packaging and preparation of finished goods. - Meet deadlines of individual production tasks. - Keep the work area safe and clean to avoid hazards. - Material handling, counting and checking. - Follow all WHS Policies and Procedures and work in a safe manner. - In-process QA and inspection checks. - Assisting with stocktake activities and inventory movements. - Participating in LEAN activities and training opportunities. Education: - Powder Coating Certificate or 5 years' experience. - School Certificate, Year 10 or equivalent. - Certificate II in Manufacturing Technology (MSM20216). - Certificate II in Process Manufacturing (MSM20116). Must have: - Good comprehension of English, written and verbal. - Self-motivated attitude. - Willingness to learn and continually improve. - Punctual, honest, courteous and respectful. - Able to work in a team environment. - Ability to understand engineering drawings and operating instructions. - Manual dexterity, strength, and endurance to manoeuvre fixtures and trolleys.
