Project Engineer Roster: Full time hours for 12-18 month contract Location: Narangba, QLD Duties & Responsibilities Lead end-to-end project delivery from concept design through commissioning and close-out. Drive technical excellence across scope development, options analysis, cost estimation, and constructability reviews. Prepare and review engineering deliverables: specifications, layouts, datasheets, and construction scopes. Collaborate with consultants, OEMs, and contractors to ensure seamless design and execution. Provide hands-on engineering support during construction, installation, testing, and commissioning. Projects You’ll Tackle Heat exchanger and boiler upgrades Vacuum system improvements Light ends load-out enhancements Laboratory and amenities upgrades Plant capacity expansion initiatives Your Role on Site Act as the engineering interface between the refinery and contractors. Oversee contractor performance, ensuring scope, schedule, and quality compliance. Resolve technical challenges and site constraints quickly and effectively. Champion HS&E standards, leading risk assessments, HAZOPs, and constructability reviews. Skills & Experience 10 years’ experience in project engineering within industrial, chemical, refinery, or heavy manufacturing environments. Proven track record delivering CAPEX and maintenance projects in operational plants. Strong contractor management and site coordination skills. Experience with high-risk, safety-critical projects. Engineering qualification in Mechanical, Process, Electrical, or related discipline. Highly Regarded: Oil refining, waste oil recovery, or hydrocarbon processing experience. Familiarity with boilers, vacuum systems, heat exchangers. Stage-gate project delivery and commissioning experience.
