Position Title: Automotive Aesthetics Technician Employment Type: Full-time Work Location: Beauty & Beast – U7, 26 River Road – Bayswater WA Reporting To: Director POSITION OVERVIEW The Automotive Aesthetics Technician is responsible for the preparation, trimming, fitting, modification, and reassembly of vehicle interior and exterior components . The role requires advanced hands-on skills in vehicle disassembly and reassembly , surface preparation, precision cutting, shaping, fitting and finishing of flexible materials, and compliance with manufacturer specifications and Australian safety standards. The position directly supports Beauty & Beast’s core service offering of premium vehicle protection and presentation. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare vehicles by removing and refitting vehicle components, including (but not limited to): o Door cards and interior trims o Door handles, mirrors, badges, lights and exterior fittings o Window seals, rubbers, mouldings and trims Measure, cut, shape and fit materials to vehicle surfaces and trim components using industry-standard tools and techniques. Modify and adapt materials to suit complex curves, edges, recesses and integrated vehicle components. Ensure all removed components are professionally refitted, aligned and secured to original manufacturer standards. Conduct installations in accordance with Australian road regulations. Heat-shape and contour. Prepare installation surfaces through cleaning, contamination removal and inspection. Ensure installations meet optical clarity, compliance, durability and finish requirements. Perform precise alignment, trimming and edge finishing of protective materials. Apply installation techniques including slip/tack solutions, controlled heat application and tension management. Inspect and rectify imperfections such as lift lines, contamination or stretch marks. Inspect completed installations to ensure: o Consistency of finish o Absence of contamination or defects o Correct fitment and durability Carry out rectification work where required to meet Beauty & Beast quality standards. Maintain detailed job records and report any vehicle issues identified during disassembly or installation. Assist with surface preparation tasks. Support other workshop functions as required. Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment. Correct handling, storage and maintenance of tools, equipment and materials. Comply with all workplace health and safety procedures. Interprets and applies job specifications, work orders and vehicle service documentation to ensure all required trimming, preparation, fitting and finishing tasks are completed accurately and in accordance with workshop standards. Provides on-the-job training and technical mentoring to junior staff, transferring trade skills, correct work methods and quality standards in accordance with workshop procedures.
