Responsibilities As the Area Manager you will plan, organise and direct the team to deliver projects on time, within budget and to a standard acceptable in line with the project guidelines. You will also support and act on behalf of the Construction Manager. Accountabilities include. Planning, maintaining, coordinating and monitoring construction programs and completion of activities involved in Project/s, and communicating on same with relevant stakeholders Organising, designing and implementing temporary works and infrastructure, as required Preparing work packages, documentation and quality requirements for tender by potential subcontractors Evaluating subcontractors to ensure capacity and capability to carry out the work Seeking the most efficient techniques, methods and materials Ensure that requirements of the Management System are implemented – especially use of process control plans, auditing of Supplier / Subcontractors and Management of Deficiencies in the works Monitor the achievement of objectives and targets Assist in the preparation of project budgets and cost to complete and processing of subcontractor and supplier progress claims. Establishing regular reports on technical, systems and productivity performances to the Project Manager Managing the work performance of self and direct reports Keeping up to date professionally about operational and leadership practices Background To secure this excellent opportunity we are seeking an individual who meets the following experience, skill & behavioral competencies; Australian citizenship preferred for Defence site entry Requirements Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering Previous experience as an SPE or equivalent.
