We are looking for a General Farm Hand to join our Costa Banana team in Walkamin QLD. About the Role This role is a hands-on role and will operate farm implements, tractors and spraying units, for the application of sprays, fertiliser programs and general farm maintenance work as required. This role will support the Farm Supervisor to achieve horticultural objectives on farm. Your responsibilities will include: Be proactive with safety and reporting. Work closely with the Agronomy and farm team to ensure sprays and fertiliser programs are carried out within the desired time frame and at the correct application rate Keep accurate and up to date farm records on established templates. Air blaster to apply fungicide, nutrient and insecticide sprays at the desired volume for particular orchards Herbicide spray vats to apply herbicide according to desired rates including spot sprays Be capable of calibrating all farm machinery to ensure desired application rates are met Slashing, Mulching, Irrigation Irrigation repairs where required Other general farm tasks as required from time to time About you: To be successful in this role you will have: 2-5 years’ experience in a similar position Experience in operation of farm machinery is essential.
